BCMaterials is the organizer and host of PrintFun – Autumn School on Functional Printing Materials and Technologies in its headquarters, located in the Science and Technology Park of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in Leioa, Spain.
Our center is one of the most important in Southern Europe devoted to Advanced Materials Science. Our research areas comprehend advanced materials for energy, environmental, biomedical and biotechnological applications, together with materials for digitalization and advanced technologies.

The Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures, BCMaterials, promoted by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science, has the mission to generate knowledge in new generation of materials, as well as to turn this knowledge into (multi)functional solutions and devices for the benefit of society. We also have a strong commitment to form a new generation of great scientists thanks to our vast training program.
Today we have an international center with researchers coming from around 25 countries, more than 100 researchers working in our center, plus around another 100 visitors per year.
SCHOOL’S FACILITIES
Theory classroom
Located at our building’s ground floor, offers excellent conditions for presential and on-line teaching as well as for individual and teamwork .
Hands-on sessions and practical classes
They will be carried out at our Functional Printing Lab with high-class equipment ready for different 2D and 3D printing techniques. Students will also work at our Multifunctional Materials Synthesis Lab to develop ink formulations as well as at various Materials Characterization laboratories.
